Feltmaking.... JOY!
Today I've been dying my organic wool tops to felt! I've been using acid dye and mixing and creating a beautiful range of organic tones, soft greys, subtle burgundy and beautiful sea greens and blues. My fibres are drying ready to felt. Over the weekend I spent Sunday with my lovely boyfriend walking and exploring the coast around Lamorna and Porthcurno, I bought a cheap and cheerful disposable camera (I wasn't prepared and left my fantastic digi camera in Falmouth), I took 30 photographs that I'm waiting to get developed. I can't wait to start my coastal felt project, I aim to create large landscape pieces (100cm by 40cm) and embellish them with stitch. I'm also waiting for the summer and the boats to be out sailing around Falmouth, I'd love to try and capture the movement of the wind in the sails and beauty of Falmouth in the summer with the hundreds of sailing boats. I will up load pictures when my first piece is finished!

Textile Day!
Today... a whole creative textile day at Truro College, Cornwall, for all my part-time AS and A level students. 7 hours of mono printing, felting, free hand embroidery and much more! As well as 1:1 support for each students and their individual final outcome for their course work portfolio. This is my first year running the course, its been exciting and a great pleasure. The 2 whole Saturday sessions we've managed to fit in this term have been so productive and creative. Better get on, my first student is here!
